Awards, in general order of precedence. (But not entirely firm order of precedence.)

Starfleet Awards

These are awarded by Starfleet itself.

Gallantry

• Medal of Honor - Awarded for "Conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty". Often posthumously.
• UFP Medal of Freedom - Awarded for "extraordinary heroism in combat in defense of a member world."
• Federation Cross - Awarded for "extraordinary heroism in combat".
• Distinguished Service Ribbon - Awarded for "exceptionally meritorious service in a duty of great responsibility"
• Silver Star - Awarded for "gallantry in action"
• Legion of Merit - Awarded for "superior/exceptionally meritorious service", generally awarded to commanding officers.
• Bronze Star - Awarded for "heroism in combat zone or meritorious service in a war zone." (not quite the Silver Star)
• Purple Heart - Awarded for wounds suffered in combat

Commendation Medals

• Joint Meritorious Unit Award - Awarded to joint units or units tasked to perform a joint mission; superior to normally expected.)
• Starfleet Commendation Medal - Awarded for heroism, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service
• Captain's Commendation - Awarded to an individual for exemplary service and/or honorable actions performed in the course of their duties, when that service is deemed worthy of formal recognition by their commanding office, but not quite up to the level of Starfleet Commendation Medal.
• Starfleet Achievement Medal - Awarded for "Meritorious service or achievement in either combat or noncombat situations based on sustained performance or specific achievement of a superlative nature but which does not warrant a Commendation Medal or higher.".

Combat Action Awards

• Combat Action Ribbon - Awarded for "Satisfactory performance under enemy fire while actively participating in an engagement"

Unit Awards

• Federation Council Unit Citation
• Starfleet Unit Commendation (basically not worth above) (unit service equiv. SSM)
• Starfleet Meritorious Unit Commendation (unit service equiv. BSM)
• Starfleet "E" Ribbon - onboard a a starship or station that won a battle efficiency competition

Campaign/Service Awards

• Prisoner of War Medal
• Starfleet Good Conduct Medal - Awarded for any active duty member of the United States military who completes three consecutive years of "honorable and faithful service". Such service implies that a standard enlistment was completed without any non-judicial punishment, disciplinary infractions, or court martial offenses. If a service member commits an offense, the three-year mark "resets" and a service member must perform an additional three years of service without having to be disciplined, before the Good Conduct may be authorized. During times of war, this drops to one year. (In SF, this typically applies to non officers/or NCOs)
• Explorer's Ribbon - spent a tour exploring regions beyond the Federation
• Starfleet Expeditionary Medal - "Landed on foreign territory and engaged in operations against armed opposition, or operated under circumstances which, after full consideration, shall be deemed to merit special recognition and for which service no campaign medal has been awarded."
• Diplomacy Ribbon - involved directly in a diplomatic outreach and was critical or otherwise noted by commanding officer as vital to the effort
• Federation Defense Service Medal - "The Federation Defense Service Medal (FDSM) was first intended to be a "blanket campaign medal" awarded to service members who served honorably during a designated time period of when a "national emergency" had been declared during a time of war or conflict. It may also be issued to active military members for any other period that the Council dictates."
• Humanitarian Service Medal - combine all of the specific "you did this neat thing for humanitarian service" here
• First Contact Ribbon - awarded to units that participate/achieve a First Contact Ribbon

Campaign Medals

• Cardassian Liberation Campaign Medal
• Peacekeeper Service Ribbon - served in any designated peacekeeping mission by Starfleet
• Klingon Conflict Medal (retired)
• Romulan War Medal (retired)

Service/Training Awards

• Federation Service Deployment Ribbon - deployed for 3 months (forward-deployed)
• Astral Service Ribbon - Service ribbon for those who have completed tours outside the border of the Federation at a permanent duty station
• Stellar Service Ribbon - tour of duty completion (one year consecutive/cumulative)
