Awards, in general order of precedence. (But not entirely firm order of precedence.)

Starfleet Awards

These are awarded by Starfleet itself.

Gallantry

  * Medal of Honor - Awarded for "Conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty". Often posthumously.
  * UFP Medal of Freedom - Awarded for "extraordinary heroism in combat in defense of a member world."
  * Federation Cross - Awarded for "extraordinary heroism in combat". 
  * Distinguished Service Ribbon - Awarded for "exceptionally meritorious service in a duty of great responsibility"
  * Silver Star - Awarded for "gallantry in action" 
  * Legion of Merit - Awarded for "superior/exceptionally meritorious service", generally awarded to commanding officers.
  * Good Conduct Ribbon - Awarded for any active duty member of the United States military who completes three consecutive years of "honorable and faithful service". Such service implies that a standard enlistment was completed without any non-judicial punishment, disciplinary infractions, or court martial offenses. If a service member commits an offense, the three-year mark "resets" and a service member must perform an additional three years of service without having to be disciplined, before the Good Conduct may be authorized. During times of war, this drops to one year. Typically, this is awarded only to non officers.
  * Bronze Star - Awarded for "heroism in combat zone or meritorious service in a war zone." (not quite the Silver Star)
  * Purple Heart - Awarded for wounds suffered in combat

Commendation Medals

  * Joint Meritorious Unit Award - Awarded to joint units or units tasked to perform a joint mission; superior to normally expected.)
  * Starfleet Commendation Medal - Awarded for heroism, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service
  * Captain's Commendation - Awarded to an individual for exemplary service and/or honorable actions performed in the course of their duties, when that service is deemed worthy of formal recognition by their commanding office, but not quite up to the level of Starfleet  Commendation Medal.
  * Starfleet Achievement Medal - Awarded for "Meritorious service or achievement in either combat or noncombat situations based on sustained performance or specific achievement of a superlative nature but which does not warrant a Commendation Medal or higher.".
  

Combat Action Awards

  * Combat Action Ribbon - Awarded for "Satisfactory performance under enemy fire while actively participating in an engagement"

   Humanitarian Service Medal - combine all of the specific "you did this neat thing for humantarian service" here
   Federation Service Deployment Ribbon - deployed for 3 months (forward-deployed)
   Stellar Service Ribbon - tour of duty completion (one year consective/cumulative)
